Your adventure begins with a comfortable bus pickup from a central terminal in Tromsø, after which you will be delivered to a secluded, authentic Sami camp. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by your hosts and have the chance to meet and bond with a herd of over 300 reindeer, a truly humbling experience as you feed them directly from your hands.
After this heartwarming encounter, it’s time for your reindeer sledding ride. Enjoy gliding through the breathtaking Arctic landscapes at a relaxed pace, pulled by these gentle animals. Throughout the ride, be sure to look up in the sky, as this unique journey is also an opportunity to search for the elusive Aurora Borealis. This exciting experience, blending nature and culture, will create memories that will last for years to come.
Once the sledding concludes, you’ll be invited into a traditional Sami hut, known as a gamme, which is beautifully lit by candlelight. Here, you will warm up with a cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate before enjoying a three-course dinner, which will feature bidos—a hearty traditional Sami stew often reserved for special events. Afterward, gather with your hosts to listen to their stories about Sami culture, their unique way of life, and witness a performance of joik, a traditional Sami song.

Essential Information:
- Pick-up is at 5:40 PM at Tromsø Havn Prostneset bus terminal, located at Samuel Arnesens gate 5, 9008 Tromsø. View in Google Maps.
- The terminal has two entrances: one near the buses and another between the terminal building and the Clarion Edge hotel. The guides, ready to depart for the camp, will stand by the buses. If you accidentally enter through the wrong entrance, simply walk through the terminal to the other side to find us. The guides wear blue ‘Tromso Arctic Reindeer’ jackets.
- Please arrive early enough to allow the tour operator to depart promptly at 6:00 PM.
- Please bring warm clothing for this tour.
- You can customize your dinner to be vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, or dairy-free—just inform the tour operator beforehand.
